Summary:

Color dark ruby red. Smell : dark berries ,cherry and a little oak. The body is medium , very fruity, aromas of blueberry, blackberry and cherry.  Also pepper, discreet oak wood and incense in background. Little bit fruit acids, Noticeable tannin, medium strong and good rounded Nice finish, milder, velvety and fruity with some resinous spices at background.

What else? Favorite Cabernet Souvignon here. Many claim that it is the best too. The high quality of its wine becomes a tradition.

Vintage 2011 was a little less fruit and more felt the impact of spice, but also nice, strong and drinkable.
Kremen 2012 was something special We have not been drinking something so delicious, balanced, but full of power of Cabernet variety. (and what we value most, without oak :))
Vintage 2014 have a thin body, but the “Kremen” style is still recognizable, and most aromatic characteristics were preserved. This year has been very bad for winemakers.. Eagerly waiting for the vintage 2015.

Vintage 2015. Much better than before, but too rough. And somehow “on steroids”. For some other winery, correct CS, something even a average. From Matalj winery we expect the much better.

Vintage2016.  Daddy’s come back !A deep blow of black berries and spices, something we did not have since 2012. Multilayered, strong and at the same time soft and sillky. Shows why this wine wine lovers calls the “King of Cabernet”. And at this moment it’s better than his premium ” and three times expensive Kremen-Kamen” 🙂

Saat-Po-Long-2005Kill Zone (Saat po long) 2005

Ordinary Hong Kong crime story, but with a good team of actresses and in the hands of a very good director (Yip Wai Shun), and the result was beyond all expectations.  The movie has set new standards and achieved unexpected popularity in the past decade, and this is the first similarity to this Matalj’s wine.  Second is overall impression, unusual drinkable and powerful story. with nice visual scenes (Yip Wai Shun in his movies makes the real arts shoots, almost paintings). So, nice to watch, nice to drink.
