Crveni vitez 2013/17 – Mali podrum Gajic winery
Color dark ruby red. Smell mild sour cherries. Medium body. In the mouth black currant and cherry, a nice balance of alcohol and acidity, Noticeable tannin. Interesting, no earthy flavor characteristic for Prokupac. Short finish full of red berries with some mineral in the background and noticeable fruity acidity, but very tasty.
Vintage 2014
Although this year was very bad for winemakers, it did not affect this Prokupac, probably because the vineyards are more than 100 years old. We remember it as a rounded wine, with an earthy aroma, perfectly balanced. Almost the entire quantity was exported abroad, to France.
Vintage 2015
This year has brought very strong wine, as winemakers say “wine with his own mind”. It was very popular here, as a good pair with homemade spicy food. Also a new label came.
Vintage 2016
Soft wine, pure sour cherries in the mouth, very drinkable. And without the influence of the oak.
Vintage 2017
Deep dark red color, almost black, with burgundy color glow on the edge of the glass. Strong smell of cherries and black berries. Full in the mouth, cherries, black currants and discreet oak in the background. Very good balanced, mild tannins. Very nicely paired with oak. Long fruit finish. Gold medal for quality.
