Summary:

Zicada 2011 Ladislav Kangiera

Dark, dark red color with brown hue (2 years in barrique), complex smell of dry fruit, dark cherry , chocolate and Meditterian trees. Full, very strong body, taste is very aromatic, berries, dry fig, chocolate, little smoke . Velvet texture, very soft tannin without acidity, and of course little sweet. Long finish with dry fruit, chocolate, paper and laurel. Interesting this 17% alcohol is so well integrated that almost does not feel. We would like to try this wine there after 2020 yr.

What else ?The story says that the best red wine in the entire Balkan region made from this grape. And everyone agrees that the best of the best made right on the Peljesac peninsula. And this wine is a worthy representative of their.
Other thing : After the second glass of this wine my wife starts caressing my cheek with comment, “I forgot how handsome you are” ( after 20 years of marriage) ๐Ÿ™‚ So this wine is very good for man when they drink it with their ladies ๐Ÿ™‚

Plavac mali grape

PLAVAC MALI (Blue small) is the most popular Croatian see coast (south and median Dalmatia) grape variety, It is used in the production of the top level Croatian redย  wine.
These are small and thick-skinned with high sugar concentration, giving structured, tannin wines with excellent aging capabilities. Maybe interesting : it is Zinfandel (Primitivo) son.
